The office of County Collector is a countywide elected position for a term of four years. Our goal is to serve the citizens of Madison County in a responsible and respectful way, by providing friendly, efficient, progressive, and accountable services while fulfilling our obligation to follow the statutes of the State of Missouri.
The Collector is the elected official responsible for the collection of real estate and personal property taxes, collecting for merchant’s licenses, auctioneer license fees, and collecting railroad and utilities taxes. The Collector is also responsible for accounting of and distribution of funds monthly to the state, county, and various taxing authorities. The Collector’s office is also responsible for conducting the delinquent real estate certificate sale held the fourth Monday of every August. Primary tax records are maintained and held for public use within the Collector’s office.
